- NAAC assessment and award year - [2004 'B++'] & [2016 'A'] Established in the year 1956 as a women’s inter-college, Government Maharani Laxmi Bai Girls PG Autonomous College Bhopal, in its long journey of 66 years has achieved significant mile stones in academics through qualitative measures and adapting itself to national and global changes. It is one of the oldest and the most prestigious institutions in Central India. The college is affiliated with Barkatullah University Bhopal and is recognized under sections 2 f and 12 (B) of the UGC Act. It was granted autonomous status by the UGC in the year 1995. In 2021 the UGC extended the autonomous status of the institute for five years till 2025-26. As an autonomous college MLB enjoys substantial internal self-governance and academic independence. The national assessment and accreditation committee (NAAC) awarded the college 'A' grade in 2016.
